Last week, the annual races of the Kiel Week were held for the 128th time in Kiel, Germany.

As every year, many World and European Championships as well as German Opens were hosted by the organizers of the Kiel Week, known as the world’s biggest sailing event.

For the third time in a row the Tactix Yachting Solutions promotion teams joined the Kiel Week in their sporty mak7 yachts. After good placements in their debut year and fantastic top ten positions in the ORCi German Open which were held in Kiel last year, the crew of the boat “mak my day” (mak7-cruise) was able to achieve 3rd place of the Kiel Cup this year. This is the first big success for the young boat class in Kiel Week.

The mak7 ladies team with skipper Anke Scheuermann missed a placement in the top three just by a hair, but showed with their boat “Gothaer” (mak7-race) in sometimes heavy conditions with rain and winds over 30kn that they had full control of their boat at all times.

The mak7 were by far the smallest boats on the race course alpha (race course for sea-going yachts on Kiel Week), and were surrounded by yachts that easily cost 3 to 30 times as much as a well-equipped mak7.

Tactix Yachting Solutions promotes mak7 Yachts since 2009 and provides the racing teams with serial production boats which are equipped with Millennium membrane sails and racing spinnakers from Beilken Sails. As navigation electronics, the Racemaster from Tacktick were used and the boats were moored in the habor by the use of powerful electric engines produced by Torqeedo. All these products are tested, distributed and promoted by Tactix Yachting Solutions and their racing teams.

Now both racing boats are back in Berlin and available for sea trials. Contact your local mak7 dealer or Tactix Yachting Solutions for your trial appointment.
